Scholarship Spotlight: Andrew Robinson

- Andrew Robinson, Gamma Sigma Alpha Scholarship Recipient 2010-2011
This Scholarship Spotlight rounds out roster from the 2010-2011 scholarship recipients, highlighting our 6th scholarship recipient (in no particular order). Andrew Robinson graduated summa cum laudefrom Valparaiso University with a major in Music Performance and a minor in Theater. He had a passion to pursue his Masters of Music Teaching at Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
During his undergraduate years at Valparaiso, Robinson was an active leader in Phi Mu Alpha and the Interfraternity Council. Robinson stated in his scholarship essay, “I can say, without hesitation that because of my involvement in Phi Mu Alpha, and the honors bestowed upon me with Gamma Sigma Alpha, I am well-prepared to enter graduate school, confident that I can handle the challenge of balancing the workload and outside commitments.”
A music professor wrote a letter supporting Robinson’s request for scholarship funds. She said, “Andrew has a valuable combination of intellectual acumen and self-discipline…In every music department ensemble and organization in which he participates, Andrew becomes a leader.” We congratulate Andrew on the leader he has become and wish him continued success as he grows into a future educator.
